Make a Payment
Use this screen to make another payment to an existing payee that you have already set-up.
Please ensure that you do not enter punctuation, such as commas or decimal points in the boxes. Once you have completed the payment reference, amount and payment date, click 'Continue'. Please note, you have the option to amend the payment reference if you wish. Furthermore, you can choose to make your payment immediately, or at a specified date in the future.
How long will my payment take? The time that your payment will take to be received by the payee depends on where the payee has their account:
- A payment to another Santander Business, Personal, or Savings account is received almost instantly.
- A payment to a Santander Credit Card (or other payment to Santander Cards Ltd., such as a store card issued by us) will take one working day to show on your Santander Credit Card statement.
- A payment to a non-Santander account can take up to four working days to will normally be received in the payee's account on the same day. In some cases, your payment will be sent using the Faster Payments service, which means that the payment will normally be received in the payee's account within two hours, but in most cases will be received instantly. A payment may be delayed for anti-money laundering or fraud checking but will always be received no later than the working day following the debit to your account.
You can also choose to use our online CHAPS facility, which is available on Santander Business Banking accounts.
- If the payment instruction is received before 2.40pm on a working day, your payment will be received by the payee on the same working day.
- If the instruction is received after 2.40pm, or on a non-working day, your payment will be received on the next working day. Please note that we will levy a fee for this service.
